Wow, thanks to everyone who came out to make the night so successful! We had about 70 folks there and just enough pizza to go around!
Steve Schrader did a great job with his presentation. His goal for the night was modest, to show that it is reasonable to believe that the Bible is a work of fact. He did this by going through the Old and New Testament to establish two main characteristics of each:
- That the copies that we have are accurate, i.e. that they represent what the originals said. And,
- That the copies are truthful.
Steve showed that we have so many various copies of the writings in the Bible that we can be sure that we have an accurate representation of the originals. He also presented archaeological evidence and other extra-biblical evidence to establish the truthfulness of Bible.
Overall it was a really stimulating talk that showed that the Bible is indeed a work of fact! |
