January Update

Wanted to give a quick summary of a few website updates and then plans for the next study on Christianity and Islam...

Website updates:

  1. All of the materials from the "Christianity Contrasted to Mormonism" study have been posted for download. These include:
    • PowerPoint slides
    • Blog recaps: Written reviews of each meeting
    • Videos of each meeting
    • References for witnessing to Mormons
  2. All available videos of the meetings have been uploaded to Vimeo!
  3. Labels have been added to all of the blogs for easy reference to the studies we've done. (On the left-hand side of the website)

Plans for the next study - Christianity and Islam:

Sometime in the early Spring (March or April) we will begin a 6-week study of Christianity and Islam. We will be using Nabeel Qureshi's new book No God but One: Allah or Jesus? as our study guide. I am hoping to get Nabeel to speak to us as a kick-off event and then follow it up with a 6-week study.

In this book Nabeel Qureshi examines the most important questions at the intersection of Islam and Christianity:
  • How do Christianity & Islam differ?
  • Are the differences significant?
  • Can we be confident that either religion is true?
  • Is it worth sacrificing everything for the truth?
Nabeel shares stories from his life and ministry, casts new light on current events, and explores pivotal incidents in the histories of both religions, providing a resource that is gripping and thought-provoking, respectful and challenging.
Readers of Qureshi’s first book, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, will appreciate this careful and respectful comparison of Islam and Christianity. Both religions teach that there is No God but One, but who deserves to be worshiped, Allah or Jesus?
If you don't know of Nabeel or his testimony I highly recommend checking out this video. Nabeel has had incredible impact since his conversion from Islam to Christianity. He currently works for Ravi Zacharias International Ministry and just recently was diagnosed with fighting stage 4 stomach cancer.

So please keep Nabeel and his family in your prayers for healing.

I'll keep everyone posted as the details get firmed up.
